PagineMediche
A digital health portal: medical magazine, prevention programmes, services with doctors. I have worked on it since 2016; today, as a senior developer, I am responsible for the editorial portal, user records and the health record.
The project
PagineMediche brings medical information and health services to a wide audience: articles reviewed by doctors, a space where experts answer readers' questions, guided prevention and wellbeing programmes, visits and teleconsultations.
The site runs on an earlier version of the CMS, the same base JoeCMS later grew from. I work in a technical team led by the CTO: the editorial team decides the content, and I look after the areas I am responsible for, from development to maintenance.
What I do
Editorial portal
Homepage, magazine and topic pages of www.paginemediche.it, landing pages for campaigns and health programmes, partner widgets, a restricted area for the editors. Recently, a Markdown version of the articles for AI assistants, with llms.txt.
User records and health record
User records, unified across the portal's services, and the personal health record: medical history, measurements, certifications, reports such as ECGs and notifications, also available inside other applications.
Maintenance
Fixes, content migrations between environments, tracking alignment, legal page updates, support when something breaks. A project that has lived for ten years is mostly this.
How it evolved
In ten years the project has gone through seven major versions: from a content portal to health programmes with questionnaires, up to the new homepage and magazine rebuilt in 2026.
Many solutions born here later moved into JoeCMS, such as indexing for AI assistants. The direction stays the same: fewer static pages, more personal paths and measured data.
